Two-Phase Treatment
At Braces World Orthodontics, we believe in creating healthy, confident smiles that last a lifetime, and that often starts early. Two-phase treatment is a specialized approach to orthodontic care designed for children who show signs of significant dental or jaw development concerns at a young age.
Two-phase treatment involves two separate stages of orthodontic care with a resting period in between. The goal is to guide the growth and development of the jaw in the first phase, then fine-tune the alignment of the teeth in the second phase once all permanent teeth have erupted.
Phase One: Early Intervention
Typically starting between ages 7–10, this phase focuses on creating the proper foundation for future dental development. We may use appliances like expanders or partial braces to guide jaw growth, correct bite issues, or prevent more serious problems from developing.
Resting Period
After Phase One, we allow the remaining permanent teeth to erupt naturally while monitoring growth and development.
Phase Two: Final Alignment
Once most or all adult teeth are in, we begin Phase Two, often with full braces or clear aligners, to achieve ideal alignment and bite.
Two-phase treatment can reduce the need for more invasive procedures, minimize the time in braces later, and create long-term oral health benefits. If your child may benefit from early evaluation, our expert team is here to help guide you through every step.
Interceptive Orthodontics
Interceptive orthodontics is an early, preventive approach that allows us to correct potential orthodontic issues before they become more serious. Also known as early orthodontic treatment, interceptive care is typically recommended for children between the ages of 6 and 10, when the mouth is still developing, and the jawbones are more adaptable.
At Braces World Orthodontics, our board-certified orthodontists use interceptive treatment to address problems like crowding, crossbites, thumb-sucking habits, or early loss of baby teeth—all of which can affect how the adult teeth come in.
Key benefits of interceptive treatment include:
- Creating space for incoming permanent teeth
- Guiding proper jaw growth and facial development
- Reducing the risk of impacted or misaligned teeth
- Preventing more complex treatment later in life
Interceptive orthodontics may involve the use of partial braces, space maintainers, expanders, or habit-breaking appliances. Treatment is always customized to your child’s unique needs, and we’ll walk you through every option so you can feel confident in your decision.
Early orthodontic evaluations—typically recommended by age 7—allow us to monitor your child’s growth and intervene at the right time, if needed. Even if treatment isn’t necessary right away, we’ll track your child’s development closely and plan for the healthiest possible smile in the future.
Comprehensive Orthodontics
At Braces World Orthodontics, we provide comprehensive orthodontic care for patients of all ages—children, teens, and adults. Comprehensive treatment is what most people think of when they imagine orthodontics: full braces or clear aligners that correct the alignment of the teeth and jaws for both functional and aesthetic improvements.
This type of treatment typically begins once most or all permanent teeth have erupted, usually around age 11 or older. Unlike early or interceptive treatment, comprehensive orthodontics addresses all orthodontic issues at once, including crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and more.
Our comprehensive treatment options include:
- Traditional metal or ceramic braces
- Clarity Clear Aligners
- Customized treatment plans tailored to your needs and lifestyle
Our board-certified orthodontists use the latest technology—including digital scans and advanced imaging—to create a detailed, precise treatment plan that delivers excellent results. Whether you’re looking to improve your bite, enhance your appearance, or both, our goal is to give you a smile that’s healthy, functional, and built to last.
We believe that every patient deserves personalized care in a supportive, welcoming environment. If you’re ready to begin your orthodontic journey, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Surgical Orthodontics
In some cases, correcting orthodontic problems requires more than braces or aligners alone. Surgical orthodontics, also known as orthognathic surgery, is used to treat severe jaw misalignments that affect both function and facial symmetry. At Braces World Orthodontics, we partner with trusted oral and maxillofacial surgeons to deliver coordinated, life-changing care for patients who need surgical intervention.
Surgical orthodontics may be recommended for adults and older teens who have stopped growing and are experiencing issues such as:
- Significant overbites or underbites
- Difficulty chewing or speaking
- Jaw pain or TMJ symptoms
- Facial asymmetry or imbalance
What to expect:
Treatment typically involves wearing braces or clear aligners before and after surgery to properly align the teeth and support the new jaw position. Our team works closely with your surgeon throughout the process to ensure seamless care, optimal outcomes, and full support before, during, and after your procedure.
Orthognathic surgery can not only improve the appearance of your smile and facial profile but also enhance long-term oral health, function, and comfort.
If you’ve been told you might need jaw surgery, or you’re struggling with a severe bite issue, our experienced orthodontists will provide a thorough evaluation and help you understand your options with care and clarity.
