Dr. Nina Laracuente
Dr. Nina Laracuente is a board-certified specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She is a graduate of University of Puerto Rico where she earned her Bachelors degree in Biology. Dr. Laracuente received her dental training from University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus, where she graduated in the top of her class, and earned her Dental Medicine Doctor degree.
Dr. Laracuente furthered her education at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York where she completed a postgraduate program in General Practice Residency followed by a postgraduate program in Pediatric Dentistry. She then continued her post-graduate education in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Montefiore Medical Center in 2008.
In 2008, Dr. Laracuente was appointed clinical attending at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and in 2014 she was appointed Program Director for the Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Residency Program at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital.
She regularly attends continuing education lectures and seminars to stay current with the most modern clinical and diagnostic orthodontic techniques.
Dr. Nina Laracuente DMD PC is able to treat a large number of tooth and jaw problems through orthodontic care. Dr. Laracuente is the only female, Latin orthodontist in Queens, NY and she is fluent in Spanish.
In her spare time she enjoys to spend time with her family and she enjoys the sport of running.

Dr. Hector Peña
With a unique blend of experience, technical expertise and a warm, compassionate approach, Dr. Pena has emerged as one of the finest orthodontic specialists in the area. His personal concern for each patient has brought accolades from patients, parents and his dental colleagues.
Dr. Peña is originally from Puerto Rico and attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school , Dr. Pena moved to NYC and completed a General Practice Residency. He practiced general dentistry for over 9 years before returning to the Bronx Lebanon Hospital to complete an additional three years of intensive, full-time training in the specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
Dr. Peña's experience gained as a general dentist before becoming a specialist in orthodontics is something that is a great benefit to his patients. Dr. Pena is capable of not only treating the most complicated orthodontic problems, but he is experienced in the diagnosis and recommended treatment of all dental problems that a patient may have when presenting for orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Peña focuses on the team approach to patient care by including the patient or parent and the general dentist in many of the treatment decisions. This is particularly critical in the treatment of adults or adolescent patients that may require cosmetic dentistry in conjunction with orthodontics.
Dr. Peña is married with two children, Emilio and Penelope. He and his wife, Dr. Nina, share a true passion for orthodontics . His hobbies include golf, traveling and spending time with his family. He is a huge baseball fan and loves soccer and football.
Dr. Pena sincerely loves his profession as an orthodontist and takes great strides and extreme pride in producing the very best possible result for each patient.
